The Farmers' Union of Wales insurance arm FUW Insurance is launching an insurance package for smallholders to coincide with this month's Royal Welsh Spring Festival at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells.
FUW Insurance will have full details of the new product available on the union's stand at the two-day festival (Saturday and Sunday May 19-20) now described as “the number one event for smallholding, gardening and sustainable living”.
Old and new customers are welcome to discuss their insurance requirements over a free cuppa and biscuits on the FUW stand (No. 001) in the South Glamorgan Hall.
"In association with Rural Insurance, an underwriting company dedicated to providing insurance solutions for agricultural and rural-based businesses, our new package will provide cover for smallholders' businesses and home all in one simple policy," said FUW business development director Emyr James.
"It is designed specifically to cater for smallholdings and small working farms with varying levels of cover from basic liability and material damage to wider levels of cover with varying benefits and sums insured."
A typical policy would:
● Protect farm buildings, contents, agricultural produce and machinery.
● Give livestock cover including fatal injury in transit; fatal injury from a variety of perils including fatal injury away from the premises and livestock worrying.
● Give public and products liability.
● Provide optional employers’ liability.
● Provide new for old cover on the home and other domestic buildings and contents.
● Cover loss or damage to valuables and personal effect, money, freezer contents and pedal cycles.
● Provide optional commercial and family legal protection.
"For more complex cases we are able to offer bespoke covers to suit the clients’ needs from a range of products and providers," said Mr James.
"For tractors, quads and private cars our farm motor insurance packages are designed to cover all customers' motor vehicles from private cars and commercial vehicles of all shapes and sizes - again all under one policy.
"For smallholders with other business interests we are able to offer a wide and diverse range of commercial insurance packages from a wide range of providers."
