What is Glastir?

Glastir is the new all Wales Agri-Environment Scheme being introduced by the Welsh Assembly Government.  It is a 5 year whole farm agreement and replaces Tir Mynydd, Tir Cynnal, Tir Gofal and the Organic Farming Schemes.

 

Glastir is made up of two elements - an All Wales Element and a Targeted Element.  Further details of the All Wales Element are available by clicking here and details of the Targeted Element are available by clicking here.

The Welsh Government have arranged a number of drop in sessions offering technical and adminstrative guidance and advice to farmers who are considering submitting a Glastir application during the current application window.  (Click here for details of the sessions)

23rd November 2011

The Welsh Government have confirmed that farmers who have signed upto the All Wales Element of Glastir will be able to withdraw from the scheme without penalty or the need to make repayments should changes be made to the scheme following the introduction of "greening" measures under the Reformed CAP.  (Click here for the Welsh Government announcement)

All of the Glastir All Wales Element Scorecards have been updated to reflect the changes made to Glastir as recommended by the Glastir Independent Review Panel.
