Following a wide ranging review undertaken by the Union’s Agricultural Education and Training Committee, a number of significant amendments have been made to the FUW Student Bursary which will be implemented in time for this year’s applications.
From this year the Union will be offering two categories of Bursary – one for Higher Education students and one for Further Education students. There will also be two prizes in each category with £1000 being awarded to each winner and £500 awarded to each runner up.
As part of its review, the Agricultural Education and Training Committee have also amended the timing of applications and the application process. While the Higher Education Bursary will continue to follow a similar application process to previous Bursaries, with essay applications being submitted between September and November, the Further Education Bursary will have a radically different look.
Applications for the Further Education Bursary now open in November, which will give students a longer period of time to settle into their studies, and will be orientated towards the practical nature of the courses being studied.
Further details and application forms are available from the Union’s local County Offices and Head Office in Aberystwyth.
